One hundred employers were on campus on Tuesday, February 28 for Geneva College’s annual Career Fair, twenty-five of which were represented by Geneva alumni.

Attendance was high, with 514 students attending, accounting for about half of the student population. Each year employers fill out a feedback survey. Many employers commented how pleased they were with the number of students they were able to meet, even noting higher student traffic compared to some of the other college career fairs they attend.

Krista Autrey, Director of Calling and Career, runs the Career Fair and spoke with many of the employers.

“Employers repeatedly commented how well-prepared students were and said they had so many good conversations with students. They also expressed appreciation for the number of faculty that attended the fair and introduced themselves.”

While we welcomed a lot of new organizations this year, many have long-standing relationships with the College and have attended the Career Fair for years. One of those employers is Southwestern PA Human Services, this year represented by Karen Russell.

“Geneva’s Career Fair is top-notch. As an employer, it is nice to attend an event that is so well organized and put together. The staff always goes above and beyond for us, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. I look forward to this fair every year and we hope to continue to recruit Geneva students for many years to come!”

These connections allow for our students to gain invaluable experiences through conversation, networking, interviewing, internships, and jobs. It also allows our students to learn about different industries, and widen their career horizons as they see how their major and interests fit into the workforce needs of each employer.
