For 175 years, Geneva College has been transforming the hearts and minds of students for faithful and fruitful service to God and neighbor. When Geneva began in 1848 in a tiny western Ohio town, just thirteen years before the U.S. Civil War its founders could hardly imagine that their small school would flourish into an outstanding Christian college known throughout the world.
Join us as we celebrate the enduring legacy of Geneva College for our 175th anniversary. This site will serve as the hub to stay abreast of all the festivities and events that will take place in honor of this significant milestone for Geneva College. As we celebrate God's faithfulness throughout the years, we pray for Geneva's future, providing Christ-centered education for generations to come.
"After much deliberation, the presbytery agreed to establish a Grammar school. The next morning, Geneva Hall opened...and as a college."
Geneva has a distinct and valuable mission. It’s represented by the crown and Bible. Our mission is to equip students for faithful and fruitful service to God and neighbors. Since 1880, Geneva’s neighbors are right here in Beaver Falls. The “Valley” at the top of the logo as well as the three waterfalls representing the original Upper, Middle, and Lower falls in Beaver Falls remind us of the call to serve God and neighbor in the place we are. It calls up the words from Jeremiah 29 where we are reminded that Israelites were called, “to build houses, plant gardens, and seek the prosperity of the city”. They were called to be faithful and fruitful neighbors, even as they were exiled from their own home. Geneva’s new logo challenges all those connected with us to build our lives on the cornerstone that is Jesus Christ wherever we may be called to serve.
