Biblically Based

Study communication design from a biblical perspective. By emphasizing imago dei, or image bearers of God, Geneva’s program teaches students an inclusive, accessible design process that considers the needs of all people

Art Studios and Agency Tours

As part of the communication design program, students meet practicing artists and manufacturers, where they learn the dynamics of concept development, craftsmanship, and project completion

The mission of the communication department is to enable students to gain the skills, insights, perspectives, and knowledge to become effective, competent, wis communicators as they represent Christ in their professions, communities, and families.

This mission rests on three premises:

  • Communication is a gift from God.
  • We are to be stewards and servants of these gifts.
  • We are called to use communication creatively and compassionately to bridge differences of culture, embody servant leadership, and transform society for the kingdom of Christ.

Unleash your creativity and imagination in our program, where you  learn by hands-on experiences that blend the art of communication with the fundamentals of artistic design. Your courses involve topics such as painting, media literacy, drawing, and media law to prepare you for diverse careers.

The learning objectives for communication design majors are: 

  1. Students majoring in communication design will develop relational skills, transactional skills, critical thinking, and professional identity.
  2. Students will be able to develop an understanding of self and others to effectively communicate in a variety of relationships, settings, and situations.
  3. Students will be able to convey messages (written, oral, visual) clearly, concisely, and correctly. They will also be able to critically analyze the messages of others.
  4. Students will be able to develop critical thinking skills which will aid them in making rational choices in a variety of personal and professional circumstances.
  5. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and values of their chosen vocation through a Christian perspective.

Career Outcomes

Geneva College built its communication design degree for our changing world.
