If you’ve ever talked to Becky Case, the director of the Center for Student Engagement, you know that events are always going on at Geneva. Students make sure to mark their calendars with these weekle events on campus.

1. Wellness Wednesday

For students looking for a time to “pause together and be intentional,” the Student Development Offices host Wellness Wednesday in Skye Lounge. Each week brings an exciting new experience to share with one another so there is something for every student to enjoy. One student said, “Wellness Wednesday gives me a chance to take a breath, and a mental break from school and homework.” (Lynsey Fultz, ’24).

This past semester, Wellness Wednesday has featured events like horses on campus, origami, painting, planting, and a petting zoo. There time every week to experience Wellness Wednesday. To take a break mid-week, head to Skye Lounge on a Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. For more information, visit the Student Success Center Instagram @geneva_ssc, or talk to Toby Shope to get weekly reminders about Wellness Wednesday.

2. The Creative Process

The Creative Process is a space for students to process their emotions and manage their stress by creating art. Stop by the basement of Old Main at 4:30-5:30 on a Monday or a Thursday, to take a break from schoolwork and engage the creative part of your brain. Toby Shope leads this hour of creation and welcomes students to come and enjoy creativity and conversation. If you need a brain break or a creative outlet, then the Creative Process might be a great way to spend your Monday or Thursday afternoon.

3. Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

Looking for a time to unwind and fellowship with other students? Athletes and non-athletes join together every Tuesday at 9:15 p.m. in the Brig for the weekly meeting of the Geneva Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). The activities at FCA vary each week, from open group discussion, activity nights at the sand courts or Reeves Field, or hearing a message from a speaker.

According to Olivia Anson '25, “FCA is a great opportunity to meet people with a genuine love for Jesus. It’s a welcoming environment where you can have fun, but also a place where you can connect with other Christians on a deeper level and grow in your faith. I look forward to every Tuesday night.” FCA is where authentic friendships are formed for the purpose of meeting Jesus together. 4. Trivia Night

If you’re a collector of useless knowledge, whether it’s statistics of your favorite sports team or every episode of The Office, put those random facts to use at Trivia Night, and you could win a prize! Every other Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. in Alexander Dining, the CSE hosts a trivia night open to the whole campus. Each night features a theme, ranging from history to pop culture. Students can form teams of four to five people, and whichever team has the most correct answers wins. According to the CSE, Trivia Night has “facts to be known, prizes to be had, nowhere else to be.” For updates on prizes or other details, visit the CSE Instagram @genevacse.

5. Climb Night

When “there ain’t no mountain high enough,” head down to the Cave on Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. to work on your climbing skills. Climb Night is hosted by the CSE’s Adventure Learning Team below the Brig. The whole campus is invited to come learn how to climb, or to just work on their climbing skills. Students are also welcomed to bring homework and just enjoy the adventurous environment that The Cave has to offer. The Adventure Team leaders are happy to help with climbing or to be an encouraging presence. For more information, check out the CSE Instagram page for weekly updates on events @genevacse, or head down to The Cave on a Thursday night.

Participating in these weekly events is a great way to get involved. The Center for Student Engagement website. keeps an updated list of what's going on and all of the fun and interesting activities on campus.
