The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) deadline is approaching, therefore knowing what exactly you need to do before the deadline is critical to ensure you receive as much Financial Aid as possible. The sooner your FAFSA is completed, the sooner colleges can confirm your financial aid package. Often students are unable to make their final college decision until receiving their financial aid package. Did you know only 66% of students apply for FAFSA? Don’t leave money on the table and submit your FAFSA today!
Filling out a FAFSA can seem like a daunting task, so we have broken it down for you.
Tara Verrico, the Director of Student Finances at Geneva College says, “a common mistake is entering parent information in the student section. The application sections will be visible to show which section you are on each time.” Along with taking your time to fill out the form, ensure that you are double-checking all entered information, especially your Social Security Number.
The FASFA application is filled out to determine if you are eligible for a variety of financial aid including but not limited to: Federal Loans, Federal/State Grants, Work-Study, and need-based Geneva College aid; however, aid is limited so FASFA informs applicants to meet the deadlines. It is worth applying for financial aid that can help pay for your education at Geneva College.
