Whether looking forward to attending Geneva College next fall or coming to visit the campus throughout the rest of the winter or in the spring, you may be wondering what there is to do in the Beaver Falls and Beaver County area. Look no further. When first visiting this area, it may appear that there aren’t many activities or places to enjoy that would occupy your free time. Well, I am proud to say that you are quite mistaken. So, here is an official guide to have a fun time in Beaver County, the home county of Geneva College!

1. Grab an Oram’s Donut

WARNING! These donuts are dangerously DELICIOUS. The Oram’s donut shop, which is only 1.4 miles away from campus, is the beholder of one of Geneva’s infamous finals week snacks. Enjoy a good morning stroll to a place that serves one of the best donuts you are ever going to taste. Just don’t be surprised if you see a cinnamon roll donut as big as your face!

2. Visit Buttermilk Falls

Whether sun or snow Buttermilk Falls is a great place to visit. This beautiful waterfall is located just 2.7 miles from Geneva’s campus. You can walk on top of the falls where the water begins and you can also swim in the pool down below. Want a behind-the-scenes view? That’s easy, just walk behind the waterfall.

3. Hank’s Ice cream

Yes, back to more food! Hank's Frozen Yogurt and Mexican Grill is a very interesting and authentic place to grab a meal. Want a burrito, nachos, fudge sundae, shake, or custard??? Don’t worry… Hank’s has you covered.

4. Drive-Ins (Dependable Drive-Ins)

As the years go by, drive ins become more and more scarce, but some do still exist! Just 26 miles away from Geneva College, Dependable Drive-In Theater is up and running. So, load up the car, pop some popcorn and drive on down to the only type of theater that has the moon and stars as a roof.

5. Jerry’s Curb Services

Ever gone to a classic 50s curbside dinner? If not, you can! Jerry’s Curb Service serves many foods including burgers, fries and shakes. And to think, you don’t even have to leave your car. So, take a step back in time and visit one of the last remaining curbside diners out there!

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end… like this blog. But the places and activities found in and around Beaver Falls is just beginning! There are too many places to list in just one blog so look out for a part two to a Guide to Have Fun in and Around Beaver Falls!
