The Tannehill Story

George Tannehill, a 1946 Geneva graduate in business, decorated World War II veteran, and long-time executive at the Koppers Company, along with his wife Beverly, are generous supporters of the Geneva College business program. Upon Mr. Tannehill’s passing in 2018, he and his wife ensured a legacy through one of the largest planned estate gifts ever donated to Geneva. In recognition of the Tannehills’ dedication to the college’s core values, to the study of business as an academic subject, and to students of the future, Geneva College has renamed the business department in their memory.

A Message From The Chair

In a marketplace shaped by rapid change, global complexity, and ethical challenges, our mission is to develop leaders who are not only skilled and strategic, but also grounded in biblical truth. Our students receive a strong foundation in business principles, financial stewardship, and team dynamics, while being continually encouraged to view their careers as callings. Whether they go on to become entrepreneurs, analysts, managers, or nonprofit leaders, our graduates are prepared to serve with excellence, lead with humility, and make a meaningful impact in the world.
