Counselors:

Amy Solman, LPC, CADC, C-DBT, CTMH, MA Director

Amy Solman

Amy is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor through the Pennsylvania Certification Board, a Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist, and a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Business Administration from Grove City College.

Amy went on to earn her masters degree in Counseling from Geneva College. She is also a certified Prepare & Enrich Facilitator through Life Innovations, Inc. - a Christian focused premarital counseling program and a certified QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention instructor.

Amy is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and a member of the American Counseling Association. She also serves as an adjunct professor in Geneva's Master's in Counseling program.

Amy has worked from 1994 to 2010 for ARC Manor (Addiction Recovery Center), a drug and alcohol treatment center located in Kittanning, Armstrong County. She has held various positions at this agency, including their Clinical Director. Her last position was as their Senior Treatment Specialist, whose duties included conducting assessments, crisis intervention, group counseling, and individual counseling in the Residential, Partial and Intensive Outpatient programs.

Amy has also worked as a contracted therapist for Northway Counseling Services through Northway Christian Community Church in Wexford, PA from 2004 to 2009. She provided professional Christian counseling services for individuals, groups, families and couples. She specialized in the area of drug/alcohol addiction, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, self injury and borderline personality disorders. She also provided training and education to local churches and community groups. She is a gifted trainer, having conducted seminars at her place of employment and various training conferences.


Toby L. Shope MA, LPC

Toby Shope

Toby looks forward to engaging with students throughout this academic year and helping them to successfully navigate the challenges they face with care, confidence, and joy. Toby holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Geneva College and is licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. In addition, he has a rich and varied history in pastoral ministry (grief/bereavement, youth, contemplative retreats/outdoor engagement, addiction/recovery), community outreach (humanitarian relief/development, rape crisis, orphan care), and the arts (theatre/drama/dance, English/art education). Toby is honored to be trusted with personal stories and to walk with students along the journey toward healing and hope


Sarah N Blasiman, MA, LPCC, LCDCIII

Sarah Blasiman

Sarah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDCIII) in the state of Ohio. She obtained her master's degree in Clinical Counseling from Malone University and her bachelor's degree from the University of Mount Union. Sarah has been trained and certified in trauma recovery and grief recovery, incorporating both into her work with clients as they seek out peace and freedom from various addictions.

Professionally, Sarah has worked extensively with individuals who are struggling with substance use disorders in both residential and outpatient settings. She also holds clinical experience in skillfully counseling clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, guilt and shame, emotional imbalance, life/career adjustments, spiritual abuse/exploration, childhood and adult trauma, grief and loss, and women struggling with pornography addictions.

Sarah approaches the struggles of her clients by including and integrating all aspects of a person's life - a holistic approach in order to fully support the healing that is taking place. Sarah loves to work alongside her clients while identifying personalized creative solutions and offering unconditional support, warm encouragement, and gentle guidance. She is passionate about creating a safe space for clients to feel accepted, understood, and comfortable to share without fear of judgment.
