The emphasis of the program is on communication skills, and the demand for these skills in areas such as education, international banking, multinational commerce, government translation, criminology, and missions makes a Spanish minor in conjunction with any of the college’s other majors an attractive combination of study.

A Spanish minor consists of six courses for a total of 18 credit hours. Students may fulfill their Spanish minor requirements by taking 9 credits in Geneva’s Spanish minor and 9 credits of Spanish courses abroad. Additionaly, students can choose to plan an independent Spanish major Geneva alongside any major at Geneva (except Secondary Education) by completing 18 credits in the Spanish minor at Geneva and 18 credits of Spanish courses in a semester study abroad program.
