Statement of Financial Responsibility

Statement of Financial Responsibility/FAQ

What is the Statement of Financial Responsibility?

This statement outlines the established financial responsibilities and obligations associated with attending Geneva College. All students must read and accept Geneva’s Statement of Financial Responsibility prior to registering for classes.

Why is Geneva College requiring the statement?

The Statement of Financial Responsibility provides relevant information about Geneva’s official institutional policies, provides important consumer information about electronic billing, holds, late fees, etc. and affirms a student’s understanding of financial obligations to Geneva.

How often must a student accept the statement?

The statement will be presented to students through their MyGeneva account the first time the student accesses the Course Search window when beginning the registration process each academic period.

Do other institutions do this?

Yes. It is common practice among higher education institutions across the United States.

My parents pay my tuition. Can they accept the statement?

No. While payment made by a third party is acceptable, it is the enrolled student who is ultimately responsible for agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Statement of Financial Responsibility.
