If you are experiencing a crisis situation on campus, students, faculty and staff are instructed to call the Resident Director on Duty number and the RD will help the student get in touch with a counselor.

• TWLOHA (twloha.com): To Write Love on Her Arms is an American nonprofit organization that aims to present hope for people struggling with addiction, depression, self-injury and thoughts of suicide, while also investing in treatment and recovery.
• Beaver County System of Care (bc-systemofcare.org/crisis): Information and support on what to do if you are in crisis along with local resources, flyers, and steps on voluntary commitments if you need additional care and safety.
• Crisis Text Line (crisistextline.org): Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7, high-quality text-based mental health support and crisis intervention by empowering a community of trained volunteers to support people in their moments of need.
• The Safe Space (safespace.vibrant.org): The Safe Space is home to free resources and tools to provide you with some extra support in an emotionally safe environment.
• Insight Timer (insighttimer.com): Also an app, Insight Timer is the world's largest library of free guided meditations with 150,000 tracks from psychologists, spiritual leaders and mindfulness teachers.
• Yoga with Adriene (youtube.com/yogawithadrien): YWA welcomes all levels and all bodies to practice high-quality free yoga videos while encouraging you to practice self-love and compassion.
• What's Your Grief (whatsyourgrief.com): Resources related to understanding and coping with grief and loss and guidance on helping a grieving friend or family member.
• For Graduate Students: Counseling Services offers a one-time session in order to provide resources and assist in finding an outpatient counselor. For those who are ready or feel comfortable doing their own search, we recommend using Psychology Today (psychologytoday.com) to find a Therapist within a specific zip code.

Coping Statements

• This feeling isn't comfortable but I can accept it.
• I can be anxious and still deal with this situation.
• I can handle these symptoms or sensations.
• This isn't an emergency. It's okay to think slowly about what I need to do.
• This isn't the worst thing that could happen.
• I'm going to go with this and wait for my anxiety to decrease.
• This is an opportunity to learn to deal with my fears.
• I'll just let my body do its thing. This will pass.
• I'll ride this through. I don't need to let this get to me.
• I deserve to feel okay right now.
• I can take all the time I need in order to let go and relax.
• There's no need to push myself. I can take as small a step forward as I choose.
• I've survived this before and I will survive this time too.
• I can use my coping strategies and allow this to pass.
• This anxiety won't hurt me even if it doesn't feel good.
• Nothing serious is going to happen to me.
• Fighting won't help so I am just going to let it pass.
• These are just thoughts - not reality.
• I don't need these thoughts - I can choose to think differently.
• I'm resilient and I can do this.
