Kayla Higganbotham

Born and raised in Minerva, Ohio, Mikayla Higginbotham, a junior business aviation major at Geneva College, is working toward a dream of being an aviation professional. In Geneva, Mikayla already found a place she loved that offered her major of choice.

Mikayla explains, “I loved the environment when I came for a visit to Geneva. Everyone was so friendly, and I wanted a place where I could grow in my faith and be around others that wanted the same.” She values how Geneva teaches everything through a faith-based perspective and says it has taught her that everything should be done in a way that pleases God, including helping others.

“Everywhere I go there are people that need Him, and I can use my major to have a ministry of my own serving the people around me,” she says. Mikayla plans to utilize her business degree to work toward meeting all the necessary qualifications to become a flight instructor, which can lead to a career with the airlines as a commercial pilot.
