Organ Music from the 11773 Dutch Psalter
Saturday, November 4, 2023
First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls
7 p.m.
The Genevan Psalter commissioned by John Calvin in the sixteenth century influenced Protestant worship across Europe, especially in the Netherlands. This year marks the 250th anniversary of a Dutch rhyming of the Genevan Psalter that is still used today.
Dutch-Canadian organist André Knevel and Geneva College alumnus Michael R. Kearney ’17 will present a joint program at First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls featuring organ compositions based on the tunes of the 1773 Dutch Psalter. All are welcome for an evening of inspiring music honoring the global legacy of psalm singing.
