BSE Major
Computers are the backbone of today’s digital world. In Geneva’s computer engineering program, students learn how to ethically and thoughtfully design, manufacture, and maintain the hardware and software that keeps networks and systems running well.
Integrate engineering and faith to provide a scientifically solid curriculum that is also faith affirming.
Study the mechanical, electrical, and manufactural aspects of computer engineering
Gain skills that will help you qualify for important Internship opportunities in computer engineering
Design digital circuits as you learn numbering systems, Boolean logic, and common logic structures.
Look behind-the-scenes as you study data networks, telecommunications, security, firewalls, and more
Learn about microprocessors at the lower level and how they can sense and control the real world.
Explore the newest tools in the field as you learn the building blocks of software engineering
Geneva's Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the commission's General Criteria and Program Criteria for Engineering, General Engineering, Engineering Physics, and Engineering Science.
Engineering students at Geneva earn a BSE degree built around a core engineering curriculum that provides students with broad exposure to the field. Students will also choose a specific concentration by working with an advisor to decide which engineering discipline is right for them.
We recognize that our students and graduates make choices and commitments that we do not control. Nevertheless, we state our objectives on the assumption that our graduates stay in the engineering profession and make the choices and commitments that we encourage.
Objectives: Within five years of graduation, graduates of Geneva College’s Engineering program will:
Be employed in the engineering profession and, with experience, assume increasing levels of responsibility.
Obtain professional certifications and/or advanced degrees appropriate to their career path.
Upon successful completion of the engineering program, graduates will have achieved the following outcomes:
Graduates who aspire to have an impact in their communities and their careers through a Geneva Education gain expertise in this field enhanced by academics rooted in Christian values and ethics in Geneva’s program.
Earn a BSE with Computer Engineering concentration and learn to design effective solutions to engineering problems in accord with applicable standards.
With a heritage of more than a century, Geneva College Engineering has educated successful engineers
Employers of our graduates say, Geneva students demonstrate subject matter excellence and professional preparation; dependability and strong work ethic; and an exceptional ability to engage others constructively in workplace contexts.
Promoting student interaction with each other and members of the engineering profession
